Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 12, 2026
1. Introduction
Voice Input (“we”, “our”, or “us”) provides desktop apps and mobile keyboards that turn speech into polished text. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Voice Input you agree to this policy.
2. Information we collect
Account information. When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and a hashed password. Authentication is handled by Amazon Cognito.
Text you send for refinement. After speech is transcribed on your device, the resulting text (not the audio) is sent to our API so we can rephrase it in the mode you selected.
Technical data. Our servers may receive standard request metadata such as IP address, timestamps, app version, and error diagnostics needed to operate and secure the service.
Support messages. If you contact us or request account deletion, we receive the name, email, and message you submit.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. Voice audio and transcription
Voice Input is designed so that raw audio stays on your device for the current product:
- Desktop (Mac and Windows): Speech is transcribed locally with Whisper. Audio is not uploaded for rephrasing.
- iOS: We use Apple’s speech recognition. When on-device recognition is available, audio stays on the device. If it is not available, Apple’s speech services may process the audio under Apple’s terms and privacy policy.
- Android: We use the device speech recognizer. On-device recognition is preferred when the system provides it. If the system falls back to a cloud recognizer, that processing is governed by the device vendor (for example Google).
Only the transcript text is sent to Voice Input servers for AI refinement. We do not use your voice recordings to train public models.
4. How we use information
We use the information above to:
- Create and authenticate your account
- Rephrase or otherwise refine transcript text according to your selected writing mode
- Operate, secure, and debug the apps and API
- Respond to support and account-deletion requests
- Comply with law
5. On-device data
Some data never leaves your device unless you copy it elsewhere, including keyboard theme, writing-mode preference, custom dictionary entries, and optional clipboard history. Uninstalling the app removes this local data. Deleting your cloud account does not wipe data that exists only on the device.
6. Third-party services
We use Amazon Web Services (AWS) for hosting, authentication (Cognito), API delivery, and AI text refinement (Amazon Bedrock). Those providers process data only as needed to run Voice Input. On iOS or Android, Apple or the device vendor may process speech as described in section 3.
We may disclose information if required by law, to protect users, or in connection with a merger or sale of the service, subject to this policy.
7. Storage and security
Account and API traffic are encrypted in transit. Credentials and tokens are stored using platform-appropriate secure storage (for example Keychain or encrypted preferences). No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Retention
We keep account information for as long as your account is active. Transient API logs and error records are kept only as long as needed to operate the service. After a verified deletion request, we delete or de-identify associated account data within 7 days, except where we must retain records to comply with law or resolve disputes.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, or to object to certain processing. To exercise those rights, email muluadamakalu@gmail.com or use our delete account form. We will respond to verified requests within 7 days.
10. Children
Voice Input is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
11. International processing
We currently operate infrastructure in the United States. If you use Voice Input from another country, your information may be processed in the U.S. and other locations where our providers operate.
12. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
